Seery turned 3 years old on September 7. This year we decided that we would have a birthday party with friends on the Saturday before her birthday, Sep. 6. It was a dress up themed party. Even the 2 boys who were there dressed up. We had all of Seery's favorite snacks to share. We played "Stick the kiss on the frog", "hot potato" with a princess ball, freeze dance, charades, Simon says, and musical mats. She had a Little Mermaid cake. It was a lot of fun! I think 7 kids was the perfect number to have celebrate her third birthday. The little girls were able to pick a fairy skirt and tiara to take home with their bag of goodies, and the boys received a knight's armor and shield to take home with their bag of goodies.

Seery's Surgery

Our sweet little Seery unfortunately.....

will be going here for surgery on September 22 to repair her umbilical hernia that never healed after she was born. Although a common surgery for 3 year old children, we of course are still nervous about our precious girl having surgery at all. So say a little prayer for her that all goes as smoothly as it should. Thanks!

Our House

This is a picture of our home according to Aidan. The red square represents the window in his bedroom. The 2 yellow lines on the front door are our door knob and knocker. If only our 2 trees were as tall as he thinks they are!

Models

The kids have a new hobby. They love building models with their dad. They work together really well. They each work on one half of the model. They love to glue the pieces together and then sand them. Of course their favorite part is painting their new creation. The first 2 pictures are of Aidan's first model, a plane. Aidan and Seery built a ship together in the last 3 pictures to give to their Aunt Katie for her birthday. They were very proud of their present exclaiming, "Katie's going to love this!"

Back to School

Aidan has gone back to school. His first day was Wednesday, August 20. He is now in the 4 year old class. He will still be going Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons. This will be his second year at Learning Dynamics. He absolutely loves this school and couldn't wait to return. We love it too, no other preschool compares.

Pregnancy Update

Here I am 6 months pregnant! Blood pressure is still high, but stable at the moment, however my protein is on the rise. I go in every 2 weeks for extra monitoring. I monitor my blood pressure at home. I am still on partial bed rest. I am not to do anything unless it is "absolutely necessary". So I am happy that it is not strict bed rest... yet. I have a long way to go! Here's hoping that I can hold out until 34 weeks!

Be Careful What You Wish For!

Have you ever thought to yourself, "Can't I ever get a break?" Well I have, and I did this morning in fact when I woke up. By the end of the day I did get my break, with my van window being smashed in! So I have learned my lesson, no more wishing I could get a break, because it can always get worse and often does. When it rains it pours. But as my good friend has always said, "Life wouldn't be worth living if it wasn't crazy!" So it is what it is and you have to roll with the punches and at some point laugh.

Silver Lining

I was thinking about the housing market decline the other day. Of course it's great to be a buyer right now. But what's the silver lining for the rest of us? And then it came to me, literally, in the mail. We owe less money to the county for property taxes this November!

Midnight Madness

So I went to Barnes & Noble at 10 pm on Friday night for Stephenie Meyer's new book, "Breaking Dawn". It was insane! Hundreds of people packed in tightly, many dressed in formal wear. (I wonder how many thousands showed up at different stores to buy the book that night?) The theme was a wedding. There was a werewolf scavenger hunt, a Bridesmaid dress competition, and a bouquet toss at 11:45. Prizes went out for all of those. I was way under dressed, but totally enjoyed sipping hot chocolate and conversation with the company I came with. When it was time to actually buy the book... I left! There were people screaming "Give me the book!" and pushing their way to the front. I felt that being preggers I was likely to get trampled and/or end up deaf. On my way out I ran into our primary president who was braving the crowd anyways to buy the book, scheduled to have her C-Section this Thursday. I laughed, she's tougher than me! I made my way over to Walmart right away where I still had to wait in a long line to get the book, but it went way faster, people there were totally chill, more my age, and dressed comfortably, plus I ran into an old friend. I'm glad I was there to see the hype build, glad to leave, excited to get the book and have it read by the end of the weekend. It was the best book of the 4 in the series. And contrary to what a friend has recently said...it is not "Crack for Mormon Housewives!"

Grandpa
