Seery Riding her Red Tricycle

Seery was just the cutest girl today with her cute outfit. You gotta love her funky tights! She requested pig tails and ribbons for her hair before we had even had breakfast this morning. She had a great time riding a bike that was just her size. She always says that pink is her favorite color (notice her clothes), but her new bike is red and luckily that is close enough!

Outside Play

We made it outside this morning just in time before the cold, wind, and snow hit! They enjoyed driving their Cozy Coupe around the driveway and filling it up with gas. Seery is thrilled with her new red tricycle we picked up earlier this morning. It just fits her. Her favorite part is the ribbons on the handlebars.

Girl Time

Aidan is in preschool every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for a few hours. David takes him to preschool and then heads off to work. That's when the fun known as "girl time" begins. I make a big deal out of the time Seery and I have together. She looks forward to having alone time with her mom as much I as enjoy just having that one-on-one time with her. Sometimes we go shopping, we might take a long drive, go somewhere for a treat, or just stay home and watch a girl show together like "Strawberry Shortcake" or "Hannah Montana". And as soon as the weather warms up we will be able to go for a walk and swing at the park. It has been snowing again this week, so I have to say I really enjoyed curling up with her underneath a down comforter watching a show she picked. It doesn't get better than that. Enough Already!

I have decided that it would be so nice if we could get through a week without people coming to our door selling something. Recently we have had people trying to sell us fruit off their truck, a $2,000 vacuum, lawn services, an alarm system which isn't really free, milk and food that can be delivered weekly, the amazing organic cleaning solution that only costs $45 a bottle, and water softeners (which by the way why would anyone pay $2000 for one? We bought ours for under $800 at Lowe's.). That's what immediately comes to mind anyways. These sales people always come at the worst times too. For us it's always at lunch or dinnertime or just as we are walking out the door to leave. They can see it's not a good time and they keep talking even after you have politely refused. I'm just surprised because I have never had so may people coming door to door selling anything before. I guess I will have to start looking before I answer the door!

Boys will be Boys

Tonight both kids wanted to drink apple juice with their dinner. I poured Seery's into her sippy cup. I went to get Aidan a cup, turned around and found my son doing this. I guess there comes a day in every boy's life where he will do the inevitable... drink straight out of the bottle. I asked him why he didn't wait for me to pour it for him and he said, "Mom there wasn't very much left, so it's ok to drink out of the bottle." Hmmmm.......wonder who he learned that one from?!

Where's my Cell Phone?

So after lunch today, it was time to run our errands. The kids actually got ready to go quickly and without complaint (the quickly part almost never happens). Of course I can't find my cell phone. I keep it only in 3 places, and it wasn't there. I looked everywhere, especially typical hiding places that my kids put things-- you know like in a laundry hamper. Still couldn't find it. I asked the kids and they said they didn't take it... right. The thing about only having cell phones is that they are small and easy for kids to hide and you can't page them like a land line cordless phone. Luckily my neighbor was home and she let me borrow her cell phone so I could call mine until I found it. I found it in Aidan's bed of all places, his bed was made so I hadn't thought to look there, and one of the kids (I think it was Seery) decided it would be a good idea to tuck it in underneath the sheets. Oh... and she put it on vibrate! So as convenient as cell phones are...they are hard to find especially with no ring tone!

High Heels are Fun

At the ripe old age of 28 I have finally thrown caution to the wind and bought a pair of high heels I love! I have worn them twice when David and I have gone out on formal dates. And I wore them with no problems. Had I known what I know now maybe I would have worn heels sooner in life and not worried about being 5'10! Life is too short---wear the shoes that make you happy... even if you're tall!

Phase One is Complete!

Phase one of our food storage is complete! Thanks to recent case lot sales we are stocked. It's hard to believe but we have enough flour and sugar to last for years not to mention plenty of canned goods, juice, etc! It feels so good to have actually done it! Seriously, it has been exciting to get all this underway!

My Best Friend

Today my best friend came over to visit. We have been friends for 15 years! (Gosh we are getting old!) We were lucky enough to go to high school and BYU together and live fairly close to each other now. She is an amazing woman whom I continually learn from. But most importantly she makes me laugh like no one else! Today she brought me beautiful flowers and a cherry coke (you know me too well!) and I just wanted to say thanks Kristine! You totally made my day!

Peter Rabbit

Aidan made this at school yesterday. He has loved the story of Peter Rabbit ever since he was really little. Needless to say he was extremely proud of his artwork. I loved that he glued real buttons onto the jacket.

Savvy Shopper

I never thought I would be excited over something like this, because it's so "not me", but I can't help it! I think I actually enjoyed grocery shopping today for the first time ever. Check out my receipt from grocery shopping today! I saved $167.52 by buying what's on sale, 50% off the total cost! I am so proud. I have heard that it can be done, I have seen some do it, I just have never done it. Living in my neighborhood has taught me some great things. Listening to these savvy women and taking their advice when it comes to buying groceries, food storage, etc. has literally paid off! When I first got married this sweet lady would go through all the grocery ads to teach me what's a good price so I could meal plan---thanks Marie, and if you could see me now--I've got it!

Glamour Girl

Today we went to Nordstrom. I needed more of my favorite MAC products. I'm being rung up, and I turn to check on the kids, and there is our little Seery sitting on a stool at the Bobbi Brown makeup counter, totally at ease, helping herself to some blush! She put it on correctly, but unfortunately happened to look like a clown! So we get home from shopping and I am getting dinner ready. Seery is being awfully quiet, this is never a good sign. I then find she had gotten into my MAC bag and pulled out all my products, she was very excited to make herself "look pretty". The top picture is the result--Vive Glam V lipstick all over her mouth! So I gave her a good scrubbing in the bath, all traces of Bobbi Brown & MAC makeup were gone. She decided to wear her "Sparkly Hannah Montana" nightgown complete with an eye mask to bed tonight! And yes, she can totally sleep with the eye mask on! I forget is she 2 or 16?
